Myotherapy is a multi skilled therapy within the Allied Health Profession and is applied in the preventative, corrective and rehabilitative phases of treatment, to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structure (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) of the human body.
As a skilled Myotherapist, I assess and physically treat pain, injury and dysfunction affecting movement and mobility using the following methods of healing:
• trigger point therapy
• deep tissue massage
• Pilates
for the treatment of conditions such as
- occupational and sporting injuries
- pre and post pregnancy muscular discomfort
- postural imbalances
- chronic overuse syndromes
- headaches
- chronic back pain
- lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow)
- shoulder pain and restricted movement
- "shin splints" and related lower leg pain
- torticollis (wry neck)
Other services I offer include:
• nutritional assesment and advice
• obstetric TENS hire and instruction
• pre and post natal treatment
Pilates is a low-impact method of exercise that focuses on strengthening the core abdominal muscles to assist in better posture and stronger, leaner muscles overall.
It complements aerobic exercises and can be used to help you recover after injury. Pilates is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
