Professional arborists
Established in 1992, High Country Tree Services boasts a staff of 13 trained and qualified tree professionals. Owner of High Country Tree Services, Howard Singleton, holds a Certificate of Arboriculture Level 4. All staff are trained and qualified, and undergo refresher training every 12 months.

We are qualified to assess your tree and will provide a report on defects, risks to assets (property, animals, and humans) and hazard potential.
*Treating your tree
Your tree is treated according to its needs and aspects of safety, health and appearance. Overgrown and/or dead branches are removed and any dangerous garden debris cleaned away.
Our qualified climbers specialise in many types of tree treatment ; pruning, reduction, restoration, raising, thinning and cleaning of the crown of the tree, as well as dead limbing. Large and small trees are removed safely.

To cater for all sizes of jobs, we have heavy duty machinery available:Stump grinder, hydraulic log splitter, bobcat, 17 metre 4x4 cherry picker, and 6, 9 and 12 inch wood chippers.

Our machinery can tackle the toughest jobs effectively and efficiently - with up to 200 stumps ground in one day.

* Woodchipping and mulching
We recycle debris from our jobs by making woodchip mulch for gardens. The mulch looks and smells great, as well as preserving precious moisture and slowing down weeds. Woodchips are for sale at our yard in Crosby's Lane. Woodchipper and truck for hire.
* Powerline clearance
High Country Tree Services works under contract for SPAUSNET doing powerline clearances in the Mansfield area and other parts of Victoria.

Local community groups such as Rotary and Apex are supported, and the Merrijig Rodeo receives sponsorship. Tree pruning and climbing demonstrations are given each year at the Tolmie Sports.
Support was given to the Honeyeater Society of Benalla when the Regent Honeyeater - whose habitat is in the Glenrowan, Greta and Benalla area – was in danger of extinction. Voluntary assistance was given by High Country Trees to cut mistletoe and remove non-native species to increase the availability of habitat.
