Mansfield District Soccer Club Inc - Information and Registration 2008

Welcome to the MDSC as a member for the 2008 season.

The Mansfield District Soccer Club is a member of the Football Federation of Victoria for 2008.
This year we plan to offer “Gala Day” matches with Alexandra Junior players and potential involvement in a Round Robin style competition on a regional level. Dates for this will be announced through the club newsletter. The program will run from 10am sharp to 12md, regardless of weather conditions and will be held at the Lords Ground in Mansfield each Sunday.

Your registration fee of $55 pays for your MDSC membership fee, a soccer ball, uniform socks, the junior development program, player insurance and for club public liability insurance for ground use through the Football Federation of Victoria. This insurance now also includes player insurance, for individual player injury on the field. Registration is open for the first four weeks of the program, the last registration being Sunday 25th May, when the AGM is held.

A Soccer uniform is required, consisting of team shirt, black shorts, socks and shin guards. Team shirts will be supplied at registration for a refundable fee of $20, and socks will be provided and are included in the registration fee. Black shorts are required and MDSC requires the compulsory wearing of protective shin guards for all players as well as appropriate football boots. Shin guards can be purchased through the club for $15 at the time of registration.

The Club will hold its 2007/2008 AGM on Sunday 25th May following usual play, in conjunction with a sausage sizzle & get together lunch. Please come along & meet everyone & perhaps take on a sharing role on the committee to help the children of Mansfield enjoy their Soccer now and into the future.

Parent Support
For sessions to run smoothly we have drawn up a roster for parental help. To ensure everyone gets an opportunity to help we will use a colour coded system. On registration you have been given a colour recorded on this sheet (yellow, green or blue), this will correspond to the weeks that you will be asked to help. On those weeks it is important that you arrive at the Lords ground at 9.30am sharp, to help with set up and receive instruction on the skill drills that will be delivered that week. If all rostered parents help, then the sessions will run smoothly and the children will enjoy their soccer more.

Yellow: May 4th May 25th AGM June 15th July 6th July 27th August 17th September 7th
Green: May 11th June 1st June 22nd July 13th August 3rd August 24th September 14th
Blue: May 18th June 8th June 29th July 20th August 10th August 31st

If you are unable to attend and help on your rostered day we ask you please to swap directly with someone from a different Sunday, so that the correct number of helpers is available each week. We will display a roster list with phone numbers after registration has closed, so that you can contact other families to arrange swaps. Please let a committee member know if you do not want your phone number displayed.

We are also looking for a weekly helper who is willing to co-ordinate tea, coffee, cordial and oranges at each session. The club will pay for purchases, but we need a willing hand to set up and dispense this much appreciated service each week.

Mitre 10 and Reddrops donated $182 to us in 2007, so please remember to specify the MDSC as your community group for your donation when shopping at Foodworks in Mansfield.
